What do players need to wear?
Games: Wee Ball & Tee Ball players should wear grey pants, dark green belt, and dark green socks. They will be given a jersey and cap. Coach Pitch and player pitch players should wear grey pants and whatever color socks and belt their coach has assigned to match the jersey and cap given to them. All players can wear cleats, but tennis shoes are acceptable.
Practice: Players should always wear full baseball attire for practice (no shorts), but it does not have to be their game jersey and cap.
What do players need to bring to games & practice?
Players should bring their glove, helmet & bat to practice & games.
Can I bring food and drink into the park? Outside food or drink is not allowed into Pelican Park. However, players may bring water and/or a sports drink on practice days as concessions may not be open. Water will be provided in the dugout at every game, and the concession stand will be open. Bags are subject to search and any food or drink being brought in will be removed on game nights.
How much does it cost to enter Pelican Park
Parents and fans must pay a $2 entry fee to watch the games. Players and coaches listed on the roster, and ages 5 and under are free. Parents do not have to pay an entry fee for practices.
Do they sell alcohol at the park?
Pelican Park does sell alcohol on nights that adult softball takes place and parents and fans are welcome to drink, however absolutely no alcohol may be brought into a dugout or onto a field. Coaches may NOT drink during games at all.
Is tobacco allowed at the park?
Tobacco is not allowed on the fields at the park including chewing tobacco and E-cigs.
Are sunflower seeds allowed at the park?
NO sunflower seeds are allowed anywhere at the park.

What size bat does my child need?
Most wee ball & tee ball players use a 24″ & 14 oz. bat. Coach pitch players typically use a 25″ & 15 oz. or 26″ & 16 0z. bat depending on their size. Coach pitch players may use 2 1/4″, 2 5/8″, or 2 3/4″ size barrel bat. USA and USSSA bats are allowed.
My child plays wee ball, when do they practice?
Wee Ball players practice right before their game, and there is no additional practice day. An hour is the perfect amount of time for practice and a game for the attention spans of most 3 and 4-year-olds. The change in pace from the practice to the game helps keeps them engaged as well.
How are Wee Ball and Tee Ball teams identified because they are all Warchiefs?
Wee Ball & Tee Ball teams are identified by their jersey color. Coach pitch and Player pitch teams have individual names.
How can I order spirit wear?
Spirit wear orders are placed during registration, and in-stock items are sold during the first week of games.
When is our next game?
Game schedules are posted on this website. Please check in with your head coach for any changes to practices or games! Cancellations due to weather will also be posted on our Facebook Page.
When is registration for next season?
Spring registration begins in January and Fall registration begins in August.
Can girls play?
Yes, girls can play wee ball, tee ball, and we now will offer softball for coach pitch and player pitch.
What age groups do you have for travel ball and how do I try out?
After many years of travel ball, Warchiefs baseball will no longer have any travel ball teams at this time. We are expanding our league and will focus on having a competitive and successful league at Pelican Park. If you are interested in travel ball, we would be happy to make a recommendation of great organizations you can try out for.
What is Skills Competition?
The skills competition is a series of baseball related competitions that teams participate in against their own teammates only. This gives each player the opportunity to showcase their special talents.
Do you have All-Stars?
Yes, we do participate in All-Stars for Tee Ball and up. Each season, after registration, we evaluate if All-Stars will be two teams of Warchiefs that play against one another in a three-game series or if a team will be selected to participate in Warm Up All-Star tournaments for other leagues. Additional fees may apply for All-Stars.
